Deluxe Media Technologies (DMT) has recruited a chief technology offi cer as it prepares to launch its metadata toolset next year.

Ricky Crafford, former Freesat commercial director and Virgin Media director of plan design and build, took on the role this month.

He is responsible for the technical strategy, architecture and delivery of DMT’s metadata software, which is still being developed.

DMT managing director Joe Trainor said: “We are developing software that will revolutionise how broadcasters capture and manage their content.

“Ricky’s track record of delivering technology innovation will be instrumental in our success.”

Crafford, who was most recently chief technology officer at Russian telecoms firm TTK, said: “This gives me the fantastic opportunity to work with and support Deluxe in shaping the future of content across the broadcast industry.”
