The Digital TV Group (DTG) has launched an Ultra HD product testing suite with a 4K HDMI “interoperability plugfest”.

The suite was used to test 4K TVs from 10 different manufacturers, set-top boxes, an upscaling BluRay player, and an AV receiver at a DTG members event earlier this month, with participants examining combinations of outputs and 4K resolutions, frame rates and bit depth. DTG chief technology officer Simon Gauntlett said the event marked the beginning of a new era of testing facilities at the DTG. The group intends to hold a follow-up event that will focus on 4K image quality and HEVC support.
