Elstree Studios has acquired audio post company 2nd Sense as part of its drive to boost the range of services it has on site.

2nd Sense was based at Elstree and offered sound design, ADR, Foley sound effects and ISDN until it went into liquidation in October.

“It’s up in the air as to whether we keep the 2nd Sense brand - it could be rebranded Elstree Post or Elstree 2nd Sense,” said Elstree Studios managing director Roger Morris.

Morris added that there would be announcements about partnerships with audio and picture-post houses early next year.

“Because TV and film productions are shooting digitally, we are also looking at a digital lab and post-production on site for assemblies.

“The idea is not to be a competitor to Soho but to form alliances with strategic operators - it would be naïve to start from scratch when you consider the number of experts out there.”
