Soho’s Fifty Fifty Post Production has bought a Snell and Wilcox HD Alchemist frame rate converter and a 16 terabyte fibre network Avid Unity.

The Alchemist HD will be used for HD editing and dubbing services while the Unity will aid long form work including a 45 x 60-minute ITV Sport commission for ESPN Classic.

Managing director Cara Kotschy said the Alchemist investment was necessary to complete international HD deliverables on the Isle of Man TT project (pictured) for North One TV and a number of short form commercial projects.

Both the unity and the Alchemist will also be used on an un-named 1x60-minute HD documentary that is currently in post-production.

Archive footage for the show will be up-converted to HD using the Alchemist.

Fifty Fifty provides editing, graphics, audio, dubbing and digital media services for the broadcast, advertising and corporate markets.
