Five has signed up access service provider Independent Media Support Group (IMS) to continue supplying its subtitling services until December 2009. IMS has supplied subtitling for Five since 2001 and also supplies subtitling for BSkyB. Ofcom announced in July that all channels that have greater than 0.05% of market share need to supply subtitling services. This has created many opportunities for access services providers such as IMS, BBC Broadcast and ITFC. BBC Broadcast recently won the contract to supply Five's audio description and signing services. IMS floated last June.
