Merton Studios, the former home of ITV’s The Bill, has been renamed Wimbledon Studios.

The re-launch of the facility will take place in the New Year, but the consortium that purchased the studios, led by Piers Read and John Brennan, said they have been inundated with requests and a number of productions have already filmed there.  

“The exciting thing for the industry is Wimbledon Studios can house virtually any production shooting in the UK,” Piers Read, managing director, Wimbledon Studios said. “From earliest pre-production, to shooting and into post-production, we have the facilities, expertise and space to offer clients a self-contained studio complex.
