Former TSL boss David Phillips has launched a new consultancy firm.

Multicast Consultancy will offer advice to multimedia clients and will specialise in broadcast, IPTV, IT, telecoms and mobile technology and the convergence of those sectors.

Phillips has taken on the role of chief executive, while EMS Technical Personnel managing director Dermot Casey is director. Casey’s involvement in Multicast is to provide the company with back office support.

Broadcast IT consultant Simon Deeks has joined the company as director of network technology.

Phillips said: “Multicast Consultancy is a new specialist consultancy offering high-end broadcast-biased consultants to multimedia clients.

“It has been set up to bring together a wide range of skills for clients to utilise as and when required, rather than for them to have to carry a high overhead of costs in their businesses.

“We see there is a clear demand for this type of flexible resource in today’s competitive and rapidly changing market”.

Phillips added: “Every client has different ambitions. They operate in different sectors, speak to different audiences, have different structures and are controlled by different personalities.

“That’s why, when we start working with a client, we’ll ask questions – lots of questions. We interrogate, interview, and research. Most importantly we listen until we understand.”
