The Jungle Group's Toby Griffin, using Fairlight and Logic Pro, has devised a bespoke soundscape for the opening sequence to the BBC's F1 coverage, which starts this weekend.

The audio bed is based on effects from Logic Pro's Apple Loops - combined with heavy duty instrument plug-ins Massive, FM8 and Sculpture - that were manipulated to match the images and form the basis of the sound design.

This was then layered with effects from The Jungle Group's audiobase FX library.

The Car ‘reveals' were enhanced with orchestral strings from Logic Pro and the FX library in order to provide a break from the intensity of the fast paced edits around them.

Directed by Julian Gibbs and produced by Richard Gort, the pre-titles sequence was created by combining CGI, classic film and subtle graphics. Louis Mellis did the voice over.

The BBC's F1 coverage starts this weekend on television, interactive and online.
