Halo Post triumphed in the Best Post Production House category at this evening’s Broadcast Awards.

It is the first time that the central London facility has won the award.

As well as a host of theatrical releases, shows worked on by Halo over the past year included dramas such as Southcliffe, comedy series including Mrs Browns Boys and factual shows including Our War and Galapagos 3D with David Attenborough, leading one judge to comment that “you know you’d be in safe hands whatever the genre”.

The post firm is perhaps most well-known for its work on factual TV content, a reputation that helped it to secure a contract to take over in-house post services for the BBC’s factual department early last year.

In October, Halo created a new division to help the company branch out into picture post services to provide grading, VFX and compositing services for film and TV drama clients.

Halo saw off competition from five shortlisted facilities: Clear Cut, Encore, Envy, Films at 59 and Splice TV.
