EVS has merged its three XStore nearline live production storage products into a single offering that the Belgian company will market but Harmonic will manufacture

The move follows an OEM partnership between the two companies announced at NAB.

The new XStore platform is based on Harmonic’s MediaGrid and has capacity for 28TB (or 500 hours of HD content) up to petabytes of storage.

“With this new generation of XStore, we’re simplifying our storage offering,” said Sebastien Maindiaux, product manager at EVS. “We want to more easily deliver customers highly reliable media storage for live and near-live production environments.

Maindiaux added that the product is designed on a “grow as you go upgrade basis” and that is has a “fully-redundant technical architecture.”

The XStore system will form part of the production infrastructure for IBC TV in September and will be used during the FIFA World Cup 2018.
