Hireworks, the Soho and Pinewood Studios based equipment hire company, is hoping to become an internationally renowned brand after securing representation in the US.

Patrick Ready, formerly chief operating officer of Pivotal Post, will use his new venture The Zipline to front Hireworks’ services in Los Angeles - and also Europe - from this week.

The Zipline will provide tools and services that support the digital production process from acquisition to post-production via delivery and archive.

Ready said: “The connection with Hireworks is a natural one. They have been the proven market leaders in service and innovation since their inception.  Our combined efforts will enable our clients to navigate the new digital workflows to save time and money.”

Lawrie Read, the founder and now executive director of Hireworks said that the move “makes us an international brand.”

Hireworks added a Dean Street hire and crewing office in January.

Pivotal Post is an editing kit rental company based in London and LA working mainly in feature film.

Hireworks recently completed work on The Prisoner for ITV and is currently working on New Tricks for BBC1.
