Brief Post for the six-part drama about members of a branch of the Women’s Institute at the start of WWII.

How it was done Following a pre-production test grade, director of photography Joel Devlin selected Kowa lenses to give the series an authenticity, while colourist Paul Staples used Nucoda to create the period grade. With Eastman Kodak’s Kodachrome colour-reversal film stock a point of reference, the aim was to embrace the production design, tying together the elements and placing them into a time without creating an obvious ‘look’. Supervised by senior post-producer Max Caswell, Encore’s creative team also included online and VFX editor Simon Brook, sound designer and mixer Karl Mainzer, sound editor Joe Fletcher and supervising sound editor Chris Roberts.
