Gowans is joined by line producer Simon Quinn and producer Nicky Bentham who are among the individuals mentoring 30 deaf and disabled people from various genres. Each will receive support tailored to their skills and experience.

The scheme is receiving funding from training body ScreenSkills’ Future Film Skills programme.

“It’s more important than ever that those in our industry support each other through these challenging times,” said Gowans, who left Transparent last year.

“Talent from all walks of life need to be nurtured, listened to and included to best reflect the UK’s diversity.”
