Soho audio specialist Factory Studios has bought a 16 fader Icon D-Control ES system from Avid.

The console will be installed in a new studio at its Soho facility that will be used for stereo and Dolby digital mixing and monitoring.

Ben Firth, sound engineer/technical support manager at Factory Studios, said: “After evaluating other offerings, we felt that ICON D-Control ES would be an exceptional addition to our facility and would enable us to continue to create award-winning work.”

The D-Control ES will be used for a wide range of work including sound design, audio post, music composition, mixing and mastering.

Factory Studios’ credits include sound design for the BBC Winter Olympic’s Trailer, which won the award for Best Titles at the BAFTA Television Craft Awards 2010.

It has also completed work on television commercials for O2, Match.com and Bud Ice.
