Open-source video platform Kaltura has set up offices in London as part of a drive to target UK and European media firms.

Kaltura general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Leah Belsky said the New York-headquartered business, whose clients include HBO and TMZ, started exploring the UK market a year ago.

She said: “Given the rapid growth we saw with the UK broadcasters, media companies and enterprises, we have decided to invest heavily in Europe, opening a new London HQ right next to Tech City with a full operational and sales team.”

Belsky said Kaltura is in talks with leading UK broadcasters, two of which are in the implementation phase.

“European media companies are rapidly seeing that with Kaltura’s open-source approach, they get the flexibility to create custom solutions,” added Belsky.
