TSI Post-Production managing director Simon Kanjee has unexpectedly quit following disagreements over the 'direction in which the company is going', writes Will Strauss.

Kanjee, who has been at TSI for nine years, five of those as md, and who previously worked for Broadcast, leaves with immediate effect and has no job to go to.

Although no exact details have been released on why he left, an announcement from the company read: 'TSI Post Production managing director Simon Kanjee has handed in his resignation to the board, citing differences as to the future strategy and direction of the TSI Group.' Kanjee, who owned part of the company, will have his shares bought out by current board members.

Financial director Simon Peach will become the new managing director of TSI Post Production. Peach, along with fellow director Mike Severyn, will also take full control of the TSI group of broadcast companies that includes TSI Transmission and TSI Design.

TSI staff were said to be surprised at Kanjee's resignation but one source did state that the md 'hadn't been entirely happy with the way the company was being run' for some time. Speaking to Broadcast, Kanjee declined to say exactly what he planned to do next, or what the 'disagreement' was that forced him to quit, but he did hint that he was happy to be leaving and that the separation was amicable.

TSI recently added a dedicated in-house 3D department and has done design work on a variety of projects including Swapheads for Talkback, Remote Madnessfor Real World and the most recent titles for Granada's This Morning show. Fox Kids also uses the company for Smoke work. An HD promo to promote the recent BBC 1 show An Audience with Robbie Williamswas also completed at TSI.
