Kit Digital and Harmonic have formed a strategic partnership to offer products with end-to-end multi-screen video architecture.

Kit Digital currently supplies multi-screen video management and delivery technology to customers including the BBC, Channel 4 and ESPN, while Harmonic is a video infrastructure solutions provider.

The two companies will combine Kit Digital’s video asset-management platform with Harmonic’s multi-codec, multi-format video processing and storage technology.

Kit Digital chief strategy officer Scott Sahadi (pictured) said the deal was in part a response to the blurring of the lines between traditional broadcast and new media distribution channels.

He said: “Our clients are demanding an integrated, seamless and cost-effective solution. This partnership is a natural evolution of an existing relationship.”

Kit Digital and Harmonic said the deal would help them create solutions for tier-one video providers to expand their broadcast and pay-TV services with multiplatform, multi-device delivery models.
