Brief Create visual effects for the two-part ITV drama that tells the story of Lord Lucan’s exploits as a member of the infamous Clermont set, the collapse of his marriage and his subsequent disappearance.
How it was done A plate shoot was required for key scenes that were set in Switzerland, Monte Carlo and Acapulco, with parts of Spain representing Acapulco and suitable stand-ins for Swiss and Monte Carlo locations shot by the VFX team.
These were treated to create period versions that were then integrated with the main unit footage.
Other scenes required animals to be combined with actors, with plate shoots of zebras, camels and giraffes added to create the desired effect. VFX supervisor Tanvir Hanif and effects artist Paul Senior used Autodesk Maya, Fusion and Nuke.
