Sir Michael Lyons, the chairman of the BBC Trust, will open this year’s IBC conference in Amsterdam with an address on the future of public service broadcasting.

The session will also include a keynote presentations by the vice president of Japanese national broadcaster NHK Yoshinori Imai and Ingrid Deltenre of the EBU. Ray Snoddy will be the chair.

The conference will seek to tackle the real commercial, creative and technical issues facing the broad industry including the place of public service broadcasting in an increasingly online and on demand world.

Chair of the conference committee Michael Lumley said: “The IBC conference is the place to meet if you care about the future of our industry.”
