Computer hardware manufacturer SGI is in negotiations to sell its 3D division, Alias, to an MBO team. The deal, which will be done with backing from a private equity investment firm, will see the existing management team and organisation structure remain as it is under new ownership. Alias did not reveal the name of the investment company. Under the terms of any deal that is struck with SGI, Alias would operate independently. Sales of the entire Alias product range will continue as normal while discussions with SGI continue. Alias generated around $65.1m (£34.47m) in revenues last year.
