Record producer Robin Millar has acquired Whitfield Street Studios from its current owner, Sony Music. Negotiations have been going on between Millar and Sony since September when Sony decided to pull the plug on the facility. Purpose-built in 1965 and originally owned by CBS, the central London facility consists of three studios and eight mastering suites. Millar plans to develop the facility's current range of services by moving into audio-visual and TV and film editing. He hopes to move into Whitfield Street Studio by next month.
