SGO has updated its Mistika editing, compositing and grading system so that it can fully support native R3D format files produced by the Red One camera.

The innovation allows Mistika to play out R3D files to tape in real-time and means users can work directly with Red One footage straight from the camera without the need for format conversion using third party applications.

An R3D file can be copied directly to Mistika's storage and then played out immediately, even via a colour corrector, without import, cross conversion or rendering.

The upgrade is available for all existing Mistika customers who currently hold an SGO maintenance contract.

Meanwhile, Pixelution will be hosting an SGO Mistika product demonstration in London's Soho at The Slug and Lettuce Pub on Wardour Street next month.

Taking place at 3pm and 6:30pm on Tuesday 7 April and on 10:30am on Wednesday 8 April the demo will focus on the real time Red One camera capabilities and Stereoscopic 3D workflows.
