Former Teddington Studios managing director Roger Morris has been appointed as the new MD of Elstree Studios, the home of Big Brother.

He will start his new job in the New Year, taking over from studios consultant Jeremy Peltzer who has been in charge for the last ten months.

According to the Borehamwood Times Morris was one of six candidates short-listed for the post.

He said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed and look forward to working for Elstree Studios and maximising its full potential. Elstree Studios has a wonderful production history and I intend to give it a wonderful production future.

Morris has also held the posts of managing director of Visions Studios and managing director of television at Pinewood Shepperton Studios.

Elstree Studio, which is owned by Hertsmere Borough Council, received 36 applications for the role.

Elstree Studios is the home of Big Brother. The Celebrity version of the show begins in January.
