Camera rental firm Movietech has ordered five Arri Alexa digital film cameras after its first unit proved a huge success.

The company was one of the first hire firms in the UK to get an Alexa.

The five new shooters were financed through media and broadcast leasing company Azule Finance.

Movietech managing director John Buckley said: “When Arri unveiled the Alexa at IBC last year, we knew instantly that this would be one of the hottest products of 2010. So far it’s proved incredibly popular, we’ve already had it out on work and demos are non-stop.”

Movietech is an independent camera and grip rental company based at Pinewood Studios.
