TV Corp-owned facility Molinare has appointed former Sony Media sales manager Mark Foligno as its managing director, writes Sam Espensen.

Executive chairman Martin Anderson told Broadcast that Foligno was hired because of his extensive sales experience as well as his knowledge of the industry. Anderson, who was previously group managing director of Molinare, revealed that his role at The TV Corp has kept him out of the country for long periods of time and that he needed to find someone who could dedicate himself to Molinare.

Foligno is particularly keen to push high definition, saying that he believed very strongly that it is "elevating the industry to a new level". Commenting on the recent downturn in fortunes for the facilities market, and on the Molinare brand, Foligno revealed: "You need to compete and evolve. I think that Molinare is a sleeping giant waiting to become what it once was."
