Panasonic’s single-body 3D camera, the AG-3DP1 (pictured), is being used in a live broadcast environment for the first time at the Roland Garros tennis tournament.

The production team is also using AG-3DA1 3D broadcast camera recorder, a side-by-side rig with two AK-HC1800 box cameras as well as six AV-HS450 switchers.

The tennis tournament is being aired in 3D by Virgin Media for the first time, following a deal with Eurosport.

A series of live centre court matches from the Roland Garros tournament will air from 22 May until the final on 5 June.
