Sales and rental firm PEC Video is planning to push further into the hire market following a change in ownership.

Dan Wheeler and Alan Walters have increased their shares in the business, taking a controlling stake from previous owners Chris and Russell Lorne.

Former sales manager Wheeler has taken on the role of managing director at the company, while head of engineering Walters has been appointed director.

The sales and rental firm has also just completed a move from Dean Street to new premises on Charlotte Street in London.

Wheeler said that following the move, PEC would look to boost the rental side of the business.

“At the moment, hire is quite small and we mainly stock lower-end broadcast cameras such as Sony’s EX1 and EX3,” he said “We will be investing in more equipment for hire, which will include cameras for news gathering and low-end production to mid-range broadcast, probably to the level of Sony’s PMW F3 (pictured).”
