Pepper, part of the Big Finish group, has appointed Ergin Ahmet as senior colourist following the departure of co-founder Vince Narduzzo last Wednesday ( Broadcast, 6.9.02 ), writes Barbara Marshall.

Ahmet has been a freelance colourist since February 1999 with credits including the film East Is Eastand Alan Bleasdale's adaptation of Oliver Twistfor ITV. Before going freelance, Ahmet spent three years at 124 Facilities as supervisory senior colourist, working on projects such as Shakespeare in Love, Four Weddings and a Funeraland the Dennis Potter dramas Lipstick on your Collarand Karaoke. Ahmet has also notched up 12 years with Channel 4 and five years with the BBC where he started his career.

Ahmet will work with Chris Beeton who heads the telecine department.

According to Pepper managing director Patrick Holzen, the firm is planning to buy a Spirit Datacine to add to its C-Reality and Ursa Diamond telecines. 'Ergin's experience is exactly what we are looking for,' he said. 'In addition to his outstanding credit list, he was heavily involved in the early pre-production testing stages of the Spirit Datacine.'

'I wanted to join Pepper because I share its enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology and dedication to technical excellence,' Ahmet said. 'As a freelancer, your contribution to development work is rather limited. I feel with my background and experience in feature film mastering and television drama work, I can now contribute to the expansion plans at Pepper.
