Presteigne Charter is providing temporary broadcast facilities and engineering staff for UK indie Input Media’s coverage of the French Open Tennis Championships, which continues this week in Paris.

An ‘International Super Signal’ feed and a daily 1 x 60-minute highlights package are being produced by Input Media throughout the tournament organised by the French Tennis Federation (FFT).

Presteigne is providing all the kit in the master control room, the production and playback servers, a production gallery, vision mixers and Avid post-production systems.

The networked set-up is based around EVS and IP Director, using a mix of London-based Input Media staff and local production staff.

Input Media director of content and development Neil Oughton said: “We deliver added value by using the networked technology to service all of FFT’s needs and produce highly polished content.”

Input recently retained the three-year commission to produce feeds for the FFT.

At the same time, GlobeCast is broadcasting 3D coverage of the tournament live via satellite to Panasonic 3D TVs in participating retail stores across the UK.

The signal is being uplinked by Eurosport from the Roland Garros stadium to the Astra 1M satellite before it is downlinked by GlobeCast for delivery to stores via Eurobird 1.
