It is setting up a new integrated business development department, which will be headed by John Pink, formerly Red Bee's director of sales and marketing. Chief technology officer Chris Howe and director of access services Ruth Griffiths will join the department, which amalgamates sales and marketing, client management and the development of new technologies.

The company - formerly BBC Broadcast - is targeting international expansion in video on demand, IPTV, content over broadband, content to mobile and navigation services.

NTL's Richard Cartland, formerly IT solutions director at NTL, has been drafted in as director of operations in the newly created operations department, incorporating access services, technology support and projects.

Red Bee chief executive Pam Masters said: "Red Bee Media is poised for rapid growth as we roll out our business plans across the world and we are looking at strategic acquisitions in key sectors."
