Roll To Record has installed three purpose-built HD studios and broadcast galleries at Elstree Film Studios for the new series of Big Brother.

The two-year, multi-million pound deal sees Roll To Record return to the Big Brother house, having worked on the past ten series of the show.

The move from Channel 4 to C5 will see the show broadcast in HD for the first time, a move which Roll To Record commercial director Mick Bass said required a big change to the production infrastructure.

“The new format gave us the opportunity to update and refresh the kit and there has been a significant step-up in terms of picture quality and operational control,” Bass said, adding that crew had been working “full on” for the past four weeks installing the HD kit.

Roll to Record is working in partnership with camera systems company Camera Corps who are providing the robotic camera technology for the reality series, supplying Q Ball 1080i cameras in approximately 34 fixed and remote positions.

Roll To Record will provide the production infrastructure for Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother and all of the spin-off shows.
