Broadcast Video Expo sponsor Root6 will present three ‘Training Taster’ sessions as part of the show’s technical seminar programme next year.

Presented by Phil Crawley, head of systems integration, the sessions will provide an introduction to some of the half-day training courses now on offer from Root6.

‘Audio 101’ is an introduction to the nature of sound and understanding why levels and Quality Control are important in the broadcast chain. Digital audio and compression will also be addressed.

TCP/IP for broadcast engineers’ is for contemporary engineering staff that have to be aware of packetized networks and how they impact the modern facility. This taster session covers the fundamentals of the protocols and practices that drive all internet-derived networks.

‘HD formats and infrastructure considerations’  will cover copper and optical cabling standards for three gigabit video, eight gigabit fibre and ten gigabit Ethernet.  

The training tasters are free and attendees will be eligible for a 50% discount on the complete half-day courses.
