IBC 2013: Root6 will demonstrate v3.3 of its file-based workflow automation and transcoding tool ContentAgent at this year’s IBC.

As part of an automated ingest system, ContentAgent now supports P2, XDCAM, XDCAM EX, AVC-HD and Canon XF card structures.

Media and metadata are copied from a watch folder and MD5 checksums are used to assess data integrity.

The media is then transcoded or rewrapped and imported into the post production workflow together with associated metadata.

With ContentAgent’s support of Avid web services for Interplay and standalone Media Composer environments, the system facilitates media management from card-based material.

Transcoded media can now be made available as a single clip, while GoPro media is also supported with multi-frame rate capability and timecode generation.

New JPEG2000 encoding with MXF OP1a wrapping will support those in broadcast and archive environments.

The suite of colour mapping tools now available in ContentAgent enables LUTs to be applied to files in any format, which Root6 said would be of benefit when moving between different colour spaces.

Additionally, gamma level adjustment is provided and, in a Red environment, Red RMD colour grade files may be applied to Red R3D clips.

A private demo area will allow IBC attendees to glimpse some new technology under development, with ContentAgent demonstrated in a live cloud environment.
