IBC 2015: Ross Virtual Solutions has announced Trackless Studio, a new virtual set software that works without camera tracking.

Built on top of Ross’s XPression Real-Time Motion Graphics System, Trackless Studio allows users to perform camera moves, utilise multiple cameras, perform transitions, add live inputs, trigger real-time 3D graphics, recall clips or still images, and create macros for complex events.

It also uses stationary physical cameras, instead of encoded camera heads or optical tracking systems, with all movement handled by virtual cameras inside of the XPression scene.

Ross has also introduced a new generation of Carbonite switchers, Carbonite Black, which features more I/O choices and production power, and is using IBC2015 to relaunch its entire Carbonite switcher family with new panels and features.

With a design based on the original Carbonite, the Carbonite Black features six new panels in 1, 2 and 3 ME row layouts with 16, 24 and 32 source buttons.

The new Carbonite Black 2RU frame provides an 36x22 I/O as standard and can be equipped with 2 or 3 MEs.

The new Ultrix compact routing platform provides integration of HD and 4K quad link or 12G single links with the Carbonite I/O.

Carbonite Black also integrates with the new XPression Trackless Studio virtual set system.
