UK producer Ruby Films is celebrating five Emmy awards for its HBO drama Temple Grandin, including outstanding made for television movie.

Producer Alison Owen, who runs Ruby with Paul Trijbits, picked up the award for the 103-minute biopic.

It also landed the outstanding directing for miniseries, movie or dramatic special for Mick Jackson’s work.

Owen said: “It is fantastic recognition for us as Brits in the midst of all the wonderful US talent represented at this year’s awards.”

The other three Emmys were for the drama’s actors, with Claire Danes winning outstanding lead actress for her portrayal of the autistic woman who became one of the leading livestock experts.

The other winners were David Strathairn, who landed outstanding supporting actor (miniseries or movie) for his role as Dr Carlock, and British actress Julia Ormond, who won the equivalent award for actresses for her performance as Temple’s mother.

Ruby’s forthcoming projects in the UK include Case Histories for BBC1, starring Jason Isaacs, and Nigel Slater biopic Toast, also for BBC1, which was recently completed and stars Helena Bonham Carter and Freddie Highmore.
