Rushes has created the visual effects for BBC/HBO's Rome, an epic 11 x 50-minute drama tracking Caesar's return to his empire. The major VFX task was to reproduce a view from Alexandria across the ancient harbour entirely in 3D. This was supervised by Jim Madigan and Pixar's Renderman software was used to light and render the scenes on the IBM Blade Centre. The CG supervisor was Jonathan Privett with Charles Darby as art director. Hayden Jones and Matt Gidney were lead 3D artists and Barry Hemsley was visual effects producer. The series starts on BBC2 on 2 November at 9pm.
