Salford University has published a tender document for the fit-out of its new facilities at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays.
The move will open the door for systems integrators wanting to install and design the University’s planned radio and TV studios.
According to reports, Salford University has put aside between £14m and £18m for the 100,000 sq ft development.
This will cover all four floors of a 12-storey building and will include everything from a café to meeting rooms.
Included in the tender are:
- Cat A and B fit out
- Audio visual equipment
- Specialist spaces including TV and Radio studios
- Specialist equipment for the above
- Open plan and cellular offices and meeting rooms
- Achieving a high level of acoustic separation
The document states that the winning contractor will be responsible for the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the large majority of specialist equipment.
However, it is expected that part of this work will be undertaken by systems integrators working on behalf of the winning contractor.
