Screen Facilities Scotland (SFS) had its official launch in Glasgow last week.

The trade body, which is affiliated to UK Screen, represents companies providing production and post facilities and services in Scotland.

SFS spokeswoman Joanna Dewar Gibb said: “This launch is a landmark event for SFS reflecting the remarkable skills and resources of every member company based here in Scotland.

“As a co-operative venture, SFS demonstrates the strength, value and effectiveness of companies working collaboratively to promote and develop the production facilities infrastructure here.”

During its two-year formative phase, SFS secured funding and support from Creative Scotland and Co-operative Development Scotland.

Director of creative development at Creative Scotland Caroline Parkinson said: “It’s great to see the industry coming together in this way, to promote the top notch services of Scotland’s facilities companies, to enhance their trading and to be the voice of the sector.”

Over the past ten months, SFS has worked on developing its brand and raising the profile of its member companies at trade shows and industry events. Next year, it wants to expand its network, reach and influence.
