Picture post house Sequence and audio specialist Wise Buddah have joined forces to offer a full postproduction service.

Between them, the companies have six audio rooms and six picture suites.

Sequence founder Ben Foakes said a private rate card would help the companies pitch for full post contracts at rates that are in line with those of other facilities.

Wise Buddah managing director Dave Holt ruled out a potential merger, but raised the prospect of the two companies sharing space and resources.

At present, content for joint projects is passed between the two sites using Sohonet and hard drives.

Holt said: “Sharing space would be a more natural progression that would keep the benefits of two specialists.”

Wise Buddah is also in the early stages of a feasibility study to redevelop its facilities.

Holt added: “It’s early days, but it would be logical to bolt on any shared space to Wise Buddah’s building.”

Foakes said the collaboration came about because of the proximity of the two Fitzrovia-based firms and similarities in size, client service style and work ethic.

The firms teamed up to work on a fast-turnaround episode of Hollyoaks (pictured) last month, with both now working on two long-form factual investigation series for TX in January and February.

Holt said: “[Long-form work] had always gone to places offering a full post service. This arrangement means we can go up against medium- to large-sized facilities.”
