Content archive and storage management software manufacturer SGL has introduced a new all-in-one archive system for post facilities and broadcasters.

Flashbox is a scalable disk and tape storage set-up. The entry-level version starts with a four terabyte (TB) disk archive, a single LTO-4 tape drive and 10 x 800GB tape slots, providing a total of 12TB of storage.

Flaskbox will work with a host of control systems including Avid Interplay and the Pro-Bel Morpheus automation and media management system.

Flashbox includes a number of features:

  • All-in-one entry-level, scalable archive solution

  • Evolution of storage and control to meet customer business requirements

  • Based on SGL's reliable content archive and storage management software

  • Compact 7RU system with capacity to expand to 56TB of storage

  • Tape externalization, partial restore supported by the control system as standard

Software Generation Limited (SGL)'s expertise in mainstream data storage has led to nearly 5000 successful installations worldwide of its FlashNet software, in specialist markets including broadcast/video, pre-press and asset management applications.
