SIS Live is commissioning high bandwidth dedicated fibre networks to key sports and leisure venues across the UK.
The company said it is installing fibre links to all Premier League football grounds, providing connectivity to its “rapidly expanding” broadcast infrastructure business, which includes two network operations centres and teleports in Milton Keynes and MediaCityUK.
SIS Live plans to install permanent fibre connectivity to 50 sports stadiums in the UK by August.
It expects that figure to grow to more than 100 sports and leisure venues by 2016.
SIS Live managing director David Meynell said: “By recently securing a major contract for Premier League football coverage, we have been able to expedite our fibre roll out programme.
“I am extremely proud of our technical solution, which positions us for rapid growth and is a significant step in SIS Live’s strategy to become the leading supplier of media fibre and SNG services to the UK market.”
Additional services offered by SIS Live include broadcast in 4K, and COFDM wireless camera links at some venues, which it said allow roving TV reporters to link into the fibre network and deliver multiple live video streams for breaking news stories.
