Sky News has selected a wireless camera setup from IntraTec for its coverage of cases heard at the High Court.

It follows last week’s announcement that the BBC, Sky and ITN would begin using cameras in courts after more than a decade of lobbying.

Cabling and space restrictions in the High Court led Sky News to select IntraTec’s Duo Remote pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) kits for its multi-camera coverage.

The remote units include connectors that power the camera, WiFi sender and video transmitter.

The system, which combines kit from IntraTec, Panasonic and Teradek, was supplied by distributor Holdan.

Holdan technical development manager Richard Payne said: “Listed buildings don’t take kindly to mounts being fixed to walls or cables being secured to ancient oak panelling.

“Going wireless with IntraTec and Teradek was a great solution for Sky News, delivering all-day HD filming with no compromise.”

The solution uses a combination of IntraTec Bridge Duo and Bridge units for wireless control, a Teradek Bolt for wireless video, and a Panasonic HE120 Camera.
