Broadcast hire company Alias Smith and Singh has opened a new office at Pinewood Studios and spent£420,000 on new equipment.

The money has been spent on a range of new technology including Sony F790 HDcam cameras and Sony HVR-Z1 camcorders.

The company has also been given a facelift with a new corporate branding.

Alias Smith & Singh company director Mike Smith, explaining the reasoning behind the decision to open the new Pinewood base, said: “The new office fulfils the company's desire to stay ever closer to the growing needs of the film and broadcast industries, as well as take advantage of the expansion opportunities that will enable the company to grow further in the future.”

Alias Smith and Singh provides VTR and camera hire for standard and high definition television systems. Its head office is on Newman Street in central London.
