The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) will host a series of seminars on the potential impact of new and emerging UHD standards next month.

“SMPTE is looking at the entire UHD ecosystem including higher frame rates, wide colour gamut, pixel density, high dynamic range, peak brightness and immersive audio,” said SMPTE governor for the EMEA and Central and South America region and chief executive at Sundog Media Toolkit, Richard Welsh (pictured).

The first Navigating the UHD Ecosystem seminar will be held in London on Monday 9 February while a Salford event will take place on Wednesday 11 February.
