Sony has unveiled the A7 II.

The new addition to Sony’s A7 range has a 24.3 effective megapixel, 35mm full-frame Exmor CMOS sensor.

Described by the manufacturer as the first camera with optical 5-axis image stabilisation designed for a full-frame image sensor.

The stabilisation system has been designed to detect and correct camera shake along five axes for still images and video, including angular shake that can occur when shooting with a telephoto lens, shift shake that can be noticeable as photographing magnification increases, and rotational shake that might affect shots at night or when recording video.

The camera record AVCHD 1920×1080 60p (50p)/60i (50i)/24p and XAVC-S, the consumer format derived from XAVC that allows for HD recording at 50Mbps.

Picture profiles enable in-camera tone adjustment. The A7 II also supports the S-Log2 gamma function

The camera will be available from January 2015.
