NAB 2013: Sony is developing a new 4K OLED monitor.

The 30-inch OLED monitor is expected to be launched next year.

A 30-inch prototype (4096 x 2160) and a 56-inch (3840 x 2160) prototype will be on display at the NAB trade show.

Sony has also expanded its XAVC format with a Long GOP (4K 4:2:0 and HD 4:2:2) high-efficiency codec which it said would serve the broader requirements of the content production market.

In addition, to serve the consumer market, XAVC S has been introduced. It employs an MP4 wrapping format and is being introduced as an expansion of XAVC in a bid to encourage growth of 4K content in the consumer market.
