A new type of E-mount camcorder with a Super-35mm large-format CMOS sensor.

Who is it for? The entry-level digital cinematography market.

How does it work? The camcorder is still under development but Sony said that, as well as being equipped with a Super-35mm sensor, it will feature the E-mount interchangeable lens system, which means it is identical to the ‘A’ series lens system used on the NEX-5, NEX-3 and NEX-VG10. A short flange back distance will allow various A-mount lenses to be mounted via a lens adaptor (LA-EA1). The recording format will be AVCHD and Sony plans to implement 1080p (50p/25p) recording modes.
