Sony is releasing firmware updates for several camera systems, servers, monitors and camcorders to improve their High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities.

The HDC-4800, HDC-4300 and HDC-P43 camera systems will be upgraded to support S-Log3 and BT.2020 for SR Live for HDR, with HD resolution HDR capability available via a firmware upgrade.

The entry level PXW-FS5 (pictured) and PXW-Z150 will receive the additional HDR capabilities via a software update. For the FS5, HLG will be supported, in addition to S-Log3. The HLG mode will be accessible via a newly added picture profile. HLG mode will also be supported in the PXW-Z150. 

Similarly, the PWS-4500, 4K live server will support HD S-Log3, HD HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) and both 4K and HD PQ (Perceptual Quantization) via an update.

The BVM-E171 HD OLED master monitor will support HDR through a new monitoring license.
