Soundcraft Studer is getting ready to open its newly refurbished factory in Potters Bar, a move that will allow all of its Vista and OnAir 3000 consoles to be manufactured in the UK.

Thanks to a $7 million investment, the factory now provides double the available manufacturing floor space, room enough for the company to centralize production of its Vista, Router and OnAir product lines.

Previously, manufacturing was split between Switzerland and the UK.

15 new production staff have been recruited to cope with the additional workload and a Customer Centre featuring test, training and demo rooms, a broadcast studio, hospitality suites and a museum is also being added.

R&D and NPI (new product introduction) will remain in Switzerland.

Andy Trott, the president of Soundcraft Studer, said: “We have made tremendous progress in building our new factory, maintaining world-class product quality for Soundcraft and Studer and protecting the great heritage of these brands have been the key considerations for the design of the new factory.

“It will be the most impressive facility of its kind in the world and we’re very excited about unveiling it to our partners and customers in the New Year.

Soundcraft Studer is a unit of Harman International Industries.
