Stockroom Archive Management has completed the re-location of The Mill’s media storage service

The Mill’s Soho Archive has been moved from Camden to The Stockroom’s 120,000 sq ft Cannon House building in the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich.

The Stockroom completed the removal and re-shelving of 60,000 film cans, video tapes, drives and archive boxes over the past six weeks.

The Mill head of library and despatch Ruaraidh MacDonald said: “The Stockroom were magnificent in transferring all our assets so efficiently and The Mill is delighted to have such a professional company managing our archive media.”

The Stockroom director Peter Godden added: “The Mill’s new state of the art facility in Windmill Street is now tapeless but there is still a need to preserve the Mill’s film and tape archive.

“Our dark fibre network also gives our clients the option to ingest and retrieve their materials onsite thus minimising further costly film and tape movements and so providing a one stop strategy for any planned digitisation projects.”
